Rodman Philbrick: an author of substance

Context and Reflection

This assignment I chose is a seventh grade extended response entitled The Author of Substance. I am showing that authors of substance have the best books to read. I chose this piece because I want to tell about why authors of substance are important. In this piece I had lots of errors mostly my GUM. Even though I have made many mistakes I still think that this is a great piece.  I believe that these changes help make my piece more understandable and easy to read.

Rod man Philbrick: an Author Of Substance

I believe that an author of substance is a writer who uses techniques to make his writing unique. An author of substance is also a writer that writes a story that will be read over and over. I believe that the Author should be able to hook readers with the first sentence.

In my opinion I think that Rodman Philbrick is an author of substance because when you read his novels you could gain emotions like sadness, anger and happiness. His novel pulls one into reading more. His book Freak the Mighty makes you see a movie in your head while reading. His books make it easy for the reader to picture what is happening in their heads.

Giving emotions and making a book easy to picture is the reasons why I think that Rodman Philbrick is a great author of substance.

About The Author

In general, I had a pretty rough time finding books that suit me in English but now I've  improved as a reader because I was able to find books that has authors of substance. One book that hooked me was Ark angel. It hooked me because it started out with an assassination, as you can tell I like books with violence and mystery.
